Only moments earlier, the villa had been completely peaceful.
Mandy had been sitting barefoot beside the floor-to-ceiling windows, reading a novel while the afternoon sun reflected across the lake.
The front door suddenly burst open.
Ashley marched inside wearing oversized sunglasses.
Brent followed behind, calmly inspecting every corner of the luxurious home as though deciding where his parents would place their furniture.
Ashley stopped in the middle of the living room and announced,

"This villa should have been bought with Grandma's inheritance. You stole what belonged to our family."
Mandy slowly lowered her book, unable to believe what she had just heard.
