CHAPTER 1: THE WOMAN WHO RUINED EVERYTHING

CHAPTER 1: THE WOMAN WHO RUINED EVERYTHING

Emma Carter was standing in front of the mirror on her wedding day.

In less than an hour, she would marry Ryan Sterling, the charming heir to one of the wealthiest families in the country.

Everyone seemed happy.

Except one person.

Ryan's mother.

Victoria Sterling.

From the first day they met, Victoria treated Emma like dirt.

She criticized her clothes.

Mocked her background.

Questioned her education.

And repeatedly told Ryan to cancel the wedding.

At the rehearsal dinner, Victoria publicly humiliated Emma.

"You are not good enough for my son."

The room fell silent.

Emma fought back tears.

That night, she became convinced of one thing:

Victoria hated her.

On the wedding day, things got even worse.

Just minutes before the ceremony, Victoria stormed into the bridal suite.

"Leave. Right now."

Emma stared in disbelief.

"What?"

"Run before it's too late."

Emma laughed bitterly.

"You've wanted me gone since day one."

Victoria grabbed her wrist.

For a brief moment, Emma saw something unexpected.

Fear.

Not anger.

Fear.

Before Victoria could explain, Ryan entered the room.

Victoria immediately stepped back.

Her face turned cold again.

"Forget what I said."

Then she left.

Emma watched her disappear.

And hated her more than ever.

But downstairs, Victoria was secretly paying a private investigator one million dollars for a single item.

A file.

May you like

A file she desperately needed Emma to see.

Before the wedding started.
