Arthur turned his back on them, signaling to Marcus. “Marcus. Secure the footage from the lobby cameras. Make sure the police receive a copy. I want assault charges filed against Mrs. Sterling before the hour is out.”
“Yes, Mr. Thorne,” Marcus nodded rigidly.
“No! Please! Mr. Thorne, I beg you!” Eleanor screamed, falling to her knees on the glass-covered floor, uncaring as the sharp fragments cut into her expensive stockings. “I’ll apologize! I’ll do anything! Please don’t send me to jail!”
Arthur ignored her entirely. He looked at Richard, who was standing frozen in shock.
“Richard. You have managed this region well for five years. But your judgment in a life partner reflects a severe moral bankruptcy. You are terminated, effective immediately. Security will escort you to your office to collect your personal effects. You have fifteen minutes to vacate my property.”
“Mr. Thorne, please, my career—” Richard pleaded, tears welling in his eyes.
“Your career is over,” Arthur stated with absolute finality. “I will personally ensure that every hospitality group in North America knows exactly why you were fired. You and your wife will never step foot in a luxury establishment again, let alone manage one.”

The police arrived, pushing through the crowds outside. Arthur’s legal team, having arrived with the second convoy, immediately intercepted the officers, handing over the security footage and explaining the situation. Eleanor Sterling was pulled to her feet by two uniformed officers, her hands cuffed behind her back.
The arrogant, diamond-draped woman who had terrorized the lobby just minutes ago was now a sobbing, broken mess, being dragged out through the shattered entrance of the hotel she had falsely claimed to own.
