PART 14: THE SILICON FALLOUT

The financial shockwaves from the San Francisco board meeting reverberated through the tech sector for a week. Apex Vanguard lost over three hundred million dollars in market capitalization within forty-eight hours, and Gregory Vance was forced into an early, involuntary retirement by his firm's institutional partners.

But back in New York, Arya knew that every victory brought her closer to the final core of the resistance. She sat in her St. Regis command center, looking at a digital map of the world where the forty global networks were now illuminated in a steady, brilliant blue.

"We've cleared the family, the old manager, and the venture capital sharks," Marcus Vance said, setting a fresh cup of tea on her desk. "But there’s one anomaly left in the system. The original clinic in Switzerland that manufactured the chemical sedative Vance Sterling used on you—The Bellevue Clinic in Geneva."

Arya looked up, her sharp eyes narrowing. "The feds raided their local distribution office in New Jersey, but the primary laboratory in Switzerland is protected by their strict national privacy laws. What did you find in the transaction logs, Marcus?"

"The clinic wasn't paid in standard currency," Marcus explained, zooming in on a series of encrypted blockchain transactions. "They were paid in custom tokens minted by a private cybersecurity firm based in London called Ironclad Defense. Ironclad is the primary security provider for the British intelligence sectors, and their CEO is a former intelligence officer named Sir Reginald Vance—Vance Sterling's paternal grandfather."

Arya felt a sudden, cold thrill of realization. The rot didn't stop at corporate greed or family jealousy. The Sterling family had access to military-grade chemical compounds because the patriarch of their lineage was one of the most powerful intelligence contractors in Europe.

"He’s the one who gave Vance the sedative," Arya whispered, her voice completely calm but carrying a dangerous edge. "He didn't just want the Kensington patents for money. He wanted our encryption structure to integrate it into his firm’s mass-surveillance software grid."

"If we go after Ironclad, we are going after a company that has sovereign immunity defense contracts," Marcus warned. "They can lock us out of the European legal system with a single phone call to Whitehall."

"Sovereign immunity protects people from laws," Arya said, her fingers tracing the edge of her emerald ring. "It doesn't protect them from math. Get the legal team ready, Marcus. We’re going to London."
