PART 3: THE FORENSIC RECOVERY

Three weeks later, the rain over Manhattan was relentless, washing over the dark glass towers of the financial district.
Arya sat in the grand conference room of Kensington Laboratories, wearing a tailored navy blue blazer over a simple cream blouse. Her hair was pulled back neatly, her features sharp and focused as she reviewed a series of encrypted ledger logs.
Marcus Bell, her family’s chief corporate attorney, slid a thick manila folder across the mahogany table. "The asset forfeiture is complete, Arya. Vance’s mother, Eleanor, tried to move twelve million dollars from their European maritime trust last night to cover their bail bonds. The federal receiver caught the routing flag within ninety seconds."
"And the patent?" Arya asked, her voice steady.
"Completely secure," Marcus smiled grimly. "The court ruled that the entire pre-nuptial agreement was executed under chemical coercion and criminal intent. The Sterling name has been legally expunged from every single intellectual property registry in North America."
The door to the conference room opened softly, and Celeste Kensington stepped inside, carrying a small silver tray with a cup of tea. She sat beside her daughter, her eyes filled with a quiet, fierce pride.
"He called again this morning from the holding facility, Arya," Celeste said, setting the tea down. "He’s begging for a confidential non-disclosure settlement. He says his mother’s health won't survive the federal grand jury indictment next month."

Arya took a slow, deliberate sip of her tea, looking out at the city skyline where the Sterling Global logo was currently being dismantled from the top of the adjacent tower by a construction crew.
"Tell his lawyers that I don't settle with variables," Arya said, her micro-expressions smoothing into stone. "He wanted a public morality clause to destroy my reputation. I simply gave him the publicity he asked for."
