Alejandro felt his body go still.
“This is my father’s.”
Isabel nodded.
“The official autopsy was incomplete.”
Elena’s voice shook.
“Incomplete how?”
Isabel opened the file.
“Cause of death: heart failure.”
She paused.
“But your father requested a second review before he died.”
Alejandro stared.
“He requested it?”
“Yes.”
Isabel turned the page.
“And it was denied.”
Elena whispered, “Who denied it?”
Isabel didn’t answer immediately.
Then:
“A doctor connected to your mother’s financial trust.”
Alejandro stepped back slightly.
“That’s not possible.”
Isabel looked at him.
“It is when the system is controlled by contracts instead of conscience.”
Silence filled the room.
Then she showed them something else.
A toxicology gap report.
Missing samples.
Destroyed records.
Elena’s hand covered her mouth.
“You’re saying he was—”
Isabel cut in.
“I’m saying your father knew he was being monitored.”
Alejandro felt something shift inside him.

Isabel added quietly:
“And Mateo died two days after giving Elena the key.”
Elena froze.
Alejandro looked at her.
